OCALA, FL—The catalog for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2026 October Yearling Sale is now available via the OBS website at obssales.com. The two-day sale is set for Tuesday and Wednesday, October 6-7. Supplemental entries will be accepted until Sept. 25.
A total of 378 horses, including 177 Florida-breds, have been cataloged for the sale with sessions beginning at noon ET each day. The October 6 session will offer Hips 1 – 189, plus supplemental entries, with the October 7 session selling Hips 251 – 439 along with supplements. Supplemental entries will be cataloged based on the alphabetical order of the dam’s name corresponding to the dam order for each sale session.
The sale will be streamed live via the OBS website.
This year’s October sale features yearlings by such notable sires as Army Mule, Authentic, Blame, OBS grad Bucchero, Charlatan, City of Light, OBS grad Collected, Complexity, Dialed In, Frosted, Girvin, Hard Spun, OBS grad Kantharos, Leinster, Maclean’s Music, Maxfield, Midshipman, OBS grad Mitole, Munnings, Oscar Performance, Practical Joke, Tiz the Law, Uncle Mo, Vekoma, Vino Rosso, War Front, Win Win Win, who stands at Ocala Stud; and OBS grad Yaupon.
Sires represented by their first yearlings in the October catalog include Americanrevolution, OBS grad Arabian Lion, Arcangelo, OBS grad Country Grammer, Pleasant Acres Stallions resident Doppelganger, Dr. Schivel, Elite Power, Gunite, Mullion, Pappacap, Simplification, who also stands at Pleasant Acres Stallions; Taiba, Up to the Mark, Pleasant Acres Stallions’ Verifying and Zandon.
First crop sires represented in the catalog include Aloha West, OBS grad and Ocala Stud resident Colonel Liam, OBS grad and champion Corniche, Cyberknife, Drain the Clock, Jack Christopher, Jackie’s Warrior, Mage, Mandaloun, Mind Control, Mystic Guide, Olympiad, Ocala Stud’s Roadster, and Speaker’s Corner.
Featured on the cover of the catalog is OBS October graduate Bentornato, a Florida-bred son of Bridlewood Farm stallion, Valiant Minister out of Her Special Way, by Put It Back, winner of the 2025 Cygames Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) and Eclipse Award finalist for divisional honors.
Trained by Jose D’Angelo for Leon King Stable Corp. and TCC Stables, Bentornato bested defending champion Straight No Chaser in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint.
Bentornato is a two-time OBS graduate, having been sold by Stuart Morris at the 2022 October Yearling Sale and then purchased by Champion Equine for $170,000 out of the Golden Rock Thoroughbreds consignment at the 2023 March Sale.
Featured on the back cover are a pair of OBS October stalwarts in multiple graded stakes-winner and millionaire Mystic Lake and Grade 1-winner Trikari.
Named the 2024 Florida Bred Horse of the Year, Mystic Lake has amassed more than $1.6 million in earnings under the care of trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. for Miller Racing, BAG Racing Stables and Robert Zoellner. She was sold by Francis and Barbara Vanlangendonck’s Summerfield to Tom McCrocklin as agent for $3,500 at the 2022 October Yearling Sale and was later purchased for $130,000 out of the Tom McCrocklin consignment at the 2023 OBS March Sale.
Amerman Racing’s Trikari earned his biggest career win when he took the 2024 edition of the Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes (G1). The Graham Motion trainee, who was consigned by Ordonez Thoroughbreds to the 2022 October Yearling Sale and purchased by Amerman Racing for $27,500, won three graded stakes with career earnings of more than $1.4 million.
Other notable sale graduates include Florida-bred and Canadian Horse of the Year Starship Jubilee, who sold when the OBS Yearling sale was held in August; Grade 1 winning Florida-bred Speed Boat Beach, graded stakes winners Desert Dawn, Kinza, and Visually as well as stakes winners Dana’s Beauty, For Harper, Gabaldon, Langvad, Liberty Rings, Meilani, Mensa, Miss Fulton Gal, Nic’s Style, Neoequos, Stat, Sunday Girl, and To the Eastside, the latter of whom recently prevailed in the $100,000 Benny the Bull Handicap at Gulfstream Park Aug. 29. Gabaldon, Langvad, Liberty Rings, Mensa, Nic’s Style and Neoequos are all Florida-breds.
