Three stakes-credential sprinters in And Uwish, Asher’s Edge and Full Disclosure will represent Florida breeders Saturday at Gulfstream Park in the $175,000 Gulfstream Park Turf Sprint presented by Seminole Hard Rock. The five-furlong grass contest features an overflow field of twelve 4-year-olds and older plus one on the also-eligible list.

All three Florida-breds exit the $125,000 Janus won by Florida-bred Reef Runner at Gulfstream Park on December 20 with And Uwish a good second. Asher’s Edge was fourth, just a neck behind third-place finisher Coppola while Full Disclosure was seventh after being checked hard by jockey Miguel Vasquez heading into the turn.

Coppola returns for the Saturday’s Turf Sprint while Reef Runner is skipping the contest.

And Uwish, Asher’s Edge and Full Disclosure are well familiar having raced against each other several times over the summer in sprints at Gulfstream.

And Uwish won the Successful Native overnight handicap going five-and-a-half furlongs on the synthetic course in August, defeating Asher’s Edge in fourth by just two-and-half lengths. He then was second to Reef Runner in the Warrior’s Pride overnight handicap going five furlongs on the turf in August before Full Disclosure outran him by a length-and-a-half when he finished second in the Chasing Artie overnight handicap sprinting on synthetic in November.

Trainer Joe Orseno owns And Uwish with Adam Parker and Suzette Parker, who bred the 5-year-old son of Mshawish out of Elective, by Grand Slam. He has won three of 10 career starts with four seconds while earning $183,580.

Regular rider Edgard Zayas will again be aboard from post four and they are 10-1 on the morning line.

Asher’s Edge is the stakes winner among the Florida-breds with his two-and-three-quarter lengths victory in the $75,000 Bob Umphrey Turf Sprint, which was taken off the turf and run on the all-weather course at five furlongs on September 20. In one race between the Bob Umphrey and Janus, Asher’s Edge was third in the Chasing Artie.

A homebred for J J Brevan Stable LLC, Asher’s Edge is trained by David Fawkes and has produced a consistent record of four wins, three seconds and four thirds in 16 starts. An earner of $226,382, the 5-year-old gelding is by Competitive Edge out of Donelle, by Roman Ruler.

Asher’s Edge is 15-1 on the morning line and will be ridden by Jose Ortiz from post 12.

Full Disclosure makes his third starts for trainer Mohamed Jehaludi and owner Sherry Racing. He won the Chasing Artie in his first start for the new connections and looks to improve with a cleaner trip than he had in Janus.

Bred in Florida by Shadybrook Farm, Full Disclosure is by Stonehedge Farm South stallion Cajun Breeze out of Theladysaidno, by Concerto. The 7-year-old gelding has won eight with five seconds and three thirds in 30 lifetime races while banking $335,330.

Vasquez gets the return mount on the 30-1 program choice and they will depart post nine.

With a victory, And Uwish, Asher’s Edge and Full Disclosure would join five other Florida-bred winners of the Gulfstream Park Turf Sprint in Yes I Am Free in 2022, World of Trouble (2019), Amelia’s Wild Ride (2015), Wicked Tune (2014) and Stradivinsky, who won the second running of the race in 2011.

Rounding out the field are Out on Bail with jockey Tyler Gaffalione, Litigation and Mario Gutierrez in the saddle, Luis Saez has the assignment on Eamonn, Incanto (Ire) will have Flavien Prat aboard, Sosua Summer will carry Jose Morelos, Unconquerable Keen (Ire) has Umberto Rispoli named to ride, My Boy Prince will be ridden by John Velazquez and Coppola will be guided by Irad Ortiz Jr. Sam the Sham is the lone entrant on the also-eligible list.
