Six Seven Brew, a full-brother to Florida-bred stakes-winner Fourth and Central, is the 9-5 morning line favorite in his first start, a $70,000 maiden special weight for 2-year-olds going five furlongs on the turf at Gulfstream Park Sunday.
Six Brew Seven is one of three Florida-breds in the seven-horse field and joins Tilou as being eligible for a $25,000 Florida Sire Racing Incentive bonus with a victory.
Capped at $1 million, the FSRI program is administered by the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association and pays $20,000 to the owner and $5,000 to the breeder of eligible Florida-sired, Florida-bred 2-year-old winners of maiden special weight, allowance, allowance optional claiming and stakes at Gulfstream Park and Tampa Bay Downs in 2026.
A homebred for trainer Michael Yates’ Shadybrook Farm in Ocala, Florida, Six Seven Brew enters after working a bullet three furlongs in :36.45 at Gulfstream Park on August 15, the fastest of 10 moves at the distance that morning.
A chestnut gelding, Six Seven Brew is by Stonehedge Farm South stallion Cajun Breeze out of the Munnings mare Little Red Frog. Little Red Frog has two starters, both winners. In addition to Fourth and Central, winner of last year’s $100,000 Dr. Fager division of the FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes, she also produced winner Mila’s Wish with Cajun Breeze. Little Red Frog has an unnamed yearling filly by Cajun Breeze, also bred in Florida by Shadybrook Farm. She was bred to Gulfport, who stands at Pleasant Acres Stallions, this year.
Yates will give a leg up on Six Seven Brew to Leonel Reyes and they will break from post five.
Heather Smullen trains Tilou, a bay son of Ocala Stud’s prolific first crop sire Roadster, who already produced 10 winners from 22 starters.
The 2-1 second choice in the program, Tilou makes his third career start and second on grass. After finishing fourth initially in a five-furlong maiden special weight on July 3, the bay colt was second to Florida-bred King Cousin B when switched to grass for a five-furlong maiden special weight on August 1.
Owned by Zoom and Fish Stable, Tilou is out of Seventh Planet, by Orb and was bred in Florida by Luc Paiement of Montreal, Quebec.
Samy Camacho has the return mount on Tilou and they will depart from the outside post seven.
Jet Fuel makes his second start after finishing fourth first time out in a five-furlong maiden special weight for Florida-breds on July 20 at Gulfstream.
Trained by Rodolfo Garcia for Gusmairy Rojas, Jet Fuel is by Curlin’s Honor out of Congratsrosy, by Congrats and was bred in Florida by Breeze Easy.
