Win Win Win colt earns $25,000 FSRI Bonus

A patient ride by Leonel Reyes allowed Florida-bred King Cousin B to strike to the front in deep stretch and win a $70,000 maiden special weight on the Gulfstream Park grass on Saturday. Trained by Bernardo Lopez, King Cousin B won his second start, this time against four other 2-year-olds sprinting five furlongs on the grass.
In addition to earning the $39,000 winner’s share of the purse, King Cousin B picked up a $25,000 Florida Sire Racing Incentive from the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association. Owner Osiris Racing Stables will get $20,000 while breeder Ocala Stud earns a $5,000 share of the FSRI money.
Capped at $1 million, the FSRI program pays $25,000 for eligible 2-year-old Florida-sired, Florida-bred winners of maiden special weight, allowance, allowance optional claiming and stakes at Gulfstream Park and Tampa Bay Downs in 2026.
Florida-bred stablemates Veilen and Tilou were quickest into stride from the outside while Reyes allowed King Cousin B to find a comfortable pace behind them in third in the run to the the half-mile pole. Veilen put a half-length on Tilou while finishing the initial quarter mile in :21.50 and was two lengths clear off the turn after King Cousin B went three wide. King Cousin B and Tilou went by Veilen in deep stretch then King Cousin B ran on to win by a length-and-a-half in :56.02 on the firm turf. Tilou was second with Veilen third, another two-and-a-quarter lengths farther back. Nofilterneeded and Florida-bred Subtle Sir finished fourth and fifth respectively. Renegade Jo and Florida-breds Awesome Noah and Six Seven Brew where scratched.
King Cousin B paid $3 to win as the 1-2 favorite.

By Ocala Stud stallion Win Win Win, King Cousin B is out of the winning Vindication mare Famous. He is a half-brother to graded stakes-placed Courteous and a full brother to stakes-placed Florida-bred Win N Juice. He was a $65,000 purchase by Carlos J. Morales as an agent for Osiris Racing Stable at this year’s Ocala Breeders’ Sales March Sale.
