FEBRUARY 22, 2015—Making her second start for Malaysian businessman Teo Ah King’s China Horse Club, Florida-bred Parranda went by front-running Summer Surprise with 300 meters to the finish to easily win the US$2,248,316 China Equine Cultural Festival Singapore Cup (Group 1-Sin) at Kranji Racecourse. Parranda won the 1,800 meter (about nine furlongs) turf contest—billed as the richest race in the history of Singapore—by two-and-a-half lengths ahead of Zululand (Aus) in second with Ming Zhi Cosmos (Fr) a nose father back in third. The final time was 1:48.53.

Trained by Christophe Clement, Parranda won carrying 125 pounds including jockey Christophe Soumillon.

After winning the Singapore Cup, Parranda was switched to the barn of trainer Michael Freedman and was ridden by Michael Timothy Rodd in the 2,000-meter (about 10 furlongs) Queen Elizabeth II Cup (Group 2-Sin) at Kranji on April 26, 2015, finishing third behind winner Stepitup (Aus). She was then pointed to the $3 million Singapore Airlines International Cup (Group 1-Sin) but was forced to retire after undergoing surgery for a foot injury.

Initially trained by Rodolfo Garcia for Lone Stable, her first stakes victory came in consecutive starts at age four in 2013 in the $100,000 Our Dear Peggy and $125,000 Millions Filly and Mare Turf Preview at Gulfstream Park. The following year she won the $150,000 Sunshine Millions Filly and Mare Turf and Grade 3 Suwannee River at Gulfstream.

After finishing sixth in the 2014 Honey Fox (G3), Parranda was purchased by Gilliam S. Campbell, Dan Clark, Gatto Racing LLC, Greg Skoda and trainer Jerry Hollendorfer and sent to Southern California. There she won the 2014 Royal Heroine (G2) and Grade 3 Wilshire at Santa Anita Park was also second in both the Grade 1 Rodeo Drive at Santa Anita and Grade 2 Yellow Ribbon at Del Mar. That year she was also third in the Grade 1 Clement L. Hirsch at Del Mar and Grade 1 Gamely at Santa Anita.

After finishing sixth in the $1,840,000 Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf (Grade 1) won by Dayatthespa at Santa Anita in November of 2014, she was consigned to the 2014 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Mixed Sale where she was purchased by China Horse Club for $800,000.

In one start for China Horse Club prior to traveling to Singapore, Parranda won the Grade 3 Marshua’s River by three lengths at Gulfstream Park in January of 2015.

By English Channel out of Dynamic Feature, by Rahy, Parranda was bred in Florida by Kinsman Farm. Lone Stable purchased her at Ocala Breeders’ Sales for a bargain $13,000 at the 2011 Spring Sale where she was consigned by Niall Brennan Stables as agent.

She retired with 12 wins, four seconds and five thirds with earnings of $2,252,633.
