Five of six starters eligible for $25,000 FSRI Bonus from FTBOA

Sum of Success, an imposing winner of his first career start on July 20, has been installed as the 7-5 morning line favorite for Monday’s $100,000 In Summation Stakes, a six-furlong test for six Florida-bred 2-year-olds at Gulfstream Park.
Five of the In Summation contenders are eligible for a $25,000 Florida Sire Racing Incentive presented by the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association including Sum of Success, American Roadster, Road to Midnight, Spicy Taco and It’s Smoking. Capped at $1 million, the FSRI program will pay $20,000 to the owner and $5,000 to the breeder of eligible Florida-sired, Florida-bred 2-year-old winners of maiden special weight, allowance, allowance optional claiming and stakes run at Gulfstream Park and Tampa Bay Downs in 2026.
Sum of Success cruised to a seven-and-a-half-length domination of a five-furlong maiden special weight for Florida-breds at Gulfstream in his debut, leading through fractions of :22.52 and :45.68 before finishing up in :58.13 on a fast track. That produced an 80 Beyer Speed Figure that is tops among the In Summation contenders.
Trained by Robert Dibona, he earned $39,000 in his lone start for owners K. Johnston Racing, Michael and Jules Ivarone and Hopeless Stable. He was a $165,000 purchase by Dibona at this year’s Ocala Breeders’ Sales Spring Sale where he was consigned by Ciaran Dunne’s Wavertree Stables as agent.
Sum of Success is by Ocala Stud’s Win Win Win out of All Summed Up, by In Summation and was bred in Florida by Oakleaf Farm.
Jonathan Ocasio rode Sum of Success in his first race and will again be aboard Monday. They have post three.
American Roadster was also a winner in his only start for trainer Joel Santiago and owner Red Diamond Stable.
A bay son of Ocala Stud’s freshman sire Roadster, American Roadster came from fourth early to win a five-furlong maiden special weight by two-and-a-half lengths at Gulfstream on July 3. He finished up in :59.31 on the fast track for a 65 Beyer number.
Also sporting $39,000 in earnings, American Roadster was a $15,000 selection by his owners out of the Ocala Stud consignment at this year’s OBS March Sale. He is out of Miss Melinda, by Malibu Moon.
Leonel Reyes has the return mount on American Roadster from post two and they are 4-1 in the program.
Spicy Taco is the second choice on the morning line at 7-2 based on a three-quarter-length score in his introduction race, a four-and-a-half-furlong maiden special weight for Florida-breds at Gulfstream on June 20. With Diego Herrera up, Spicy Taco was bothered at the start and then steadied again in the backstretch. He went four-wide out of the turn before getting under way in the stretch to get by even-money favorite Strike for the win.
Spicy Taco is trained by Luis Ramirez and earned $39,000 for owners Smith Ranch Stables. He is by Uncle Chuck out of Overbeliever, by Midshipman and was bred in Florida by Bulldog Racing and Four Horseman’s Ranch. He is a graduate of the 2025 OBS October Yearling Sale where bloodstock agent Sean S. Perl took him for $14,000 out of Lisa McGreevy’s Abbie Road Farm consignment.
Herrera has the return mount from post five.
Others set to line up are Boyhood Dream with jockey Miguel Vasquez, Edwin Gonzalez rides Road to Midnight and It’s Smoking will have Edgar Perez in the saddle.
