HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Half Hollow Stables LLC and ProRacing Stable LLC’s Khozalite was a dominating four-length winner of the $200,000 Affirmed, the second leg of the 2025 FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes series Oct. 18, but the son of Ocala Stud’s leading Florida sire Khozan may have to step it up if he is going to capture the $300,000 In Reality, the final leg of the series for 2-year-olds sired by accredited Florida stallions set for Nov. 29 at Gulfstream Park.
Trainer Jose D’Angelo will not only enter Khozalite in the mile-and-a-sixteenth finale for the FSS colts and geldings division, but he also plans to run Soldi Stable LLC and partners’ Prost, a dazzling nine-length debut winner of a seven-furlong maiden special weight at Gulfstream Oct. 11.
“They are my two horses for the [sire] stakes,” D’Angelo said Saturday morning after sending the two sons of Khozan to the track at Palm Meadows, Gulfstream Park’s satellite training center in Palm Beach County, to breeze for their scheduled clash in the In Reality. “Prost is a talented horse too. He got started later than Khozalite. I was looking at the In Reality. That’s why I ran him at seven [furlongs] first time. I knew he was a good horse, but I’ll be honest, he surprised me the way that he won.”
Khozalite breezed five furlongs in 1:02.05 for the In Reality on the opening weekend of the Gulfstream’s 2025-2026 Championship Meet.
“I’m very happy with him for the race,” D’Angelo said.
Khozalite had graduated in a one-mile maiden special weight on turf in his start prior to the seven-furlong Affirmed.
“Distance is not problem for him,” D’Angelo said. “Also, he’s a talented horse that can run on both surfaces.”
Prost breezed a half mile in :49.70 for his second career start in the In Reality.
“He worked very good today with a strong gallop-out,” D’Angelo said. “It was everything I was looking for.”
Graded-stakes winner Mythical breezed four-furlongs at Gulfstream Park Saturday morning in preparation for the $300,000 My Dear Girl, the mile-and-a-sixteeenth final leg of the FFS series for 2-year-old fillies by accredited Florida stallions.
The Arindel homebred is coming off a 12 ¾-length romp in the $200,000 Susan’s Girl, the seven-furlong second leg of the FSS series for 2-year-old fillies
The daughter of St. Patrick’s Day broke her maiden at Gulfstream Park by eight-and-a-half lengths in her debut before going on to beat boys in the $145,000 Tremont (Listed) and capture the Aug. 3 Adirondack (G3) at Saratoga. She ran fifth in the Aug. 30 Spinaway (G1) at Saratoga before returning to Gulfstream to romp in the Susan’s Girl.
