Two star Florida-bred fillies try to add to their extensive black-type credentials Friday at Saratoga Race Course in the $225,000 Victory Ride (Grade 3), a six-and-a-half-furlong test for ten 3-year-old filles. Both have won two stakes so far this year while Arindel homebred Mythical also took both the $145,000 Tremont (Listed) versus males and the Grade 3 Adirondack at Saratoga in her 2-year-old season.

A victory by Mythical or Tessellate will earn their respective breeders a $5,000 Export Incentive paid by the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association.

Trained by Jorge Delgado, Mythical has won half of her four previous races at Saratoga. Most recently, she was third in the $175,000 Jersey Girl going six furlongs there on June 4. With Edgard Zayas aboard, Mythical raced third throughout but could not get past winner Goodall and runner-up Carmel Coast, both of whom she faces again in the Victory Ride.

He first three races this year came at Gulfstream Park where she won the $122,000 Any Limit by two lengths in March and the $100,000 FHBPA Sophomore Fillies by five-and-a-half-lengths against Florida-breds on April 25. She was fifth in the Grade 3 Forward Gal won by On Time Girl in her first start of 2026 in January.

Mythical is by St Patrick’s Day out of Lailoni, by Brethren and has a career record of seven wins in 10 starts with her lone third in the Jersey Girl. She has lifetime earnings of $705,615.

Zayas has the return mount on Mythical, who is 9-2 on the morning line and has drawn post seven.

Tessellate will start from Mythical’s immediate right in post eight and Saratoga is her fourth different track in five races this year for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.

A winner of half of her eight career starts, Tessellate won two stakes at Tampa Bay Downs this year starting with the $120,000 Gasparilla in January and the $100,000 Stonehedge Farm South Sophomore Fillies versus Florida-breds on March 29. In two other races in 2026, she was sixth in the Forward Gal and second last out in the Grade 3 Miss Preakness won by Victory Ride-rival Peach Tie at Laurel Park on May 15.

Tessellate has earned $262,510 for Magic Cap Stables, Paul Braveman, Timothy Pinch, Castle Gate Farm, BAG Racing Stables, Jonathan Reinhardt and Thoroughbred Acquisition Group.

She is by McKinzie out of Shotdowninflames by Trappe Shot and was bred in Florida by Tim and Crystal O’Donohue’s Castle Gate Farm located in Ocala.

Tessellate will be ridden by Dylan Davis and she is 20-1 in the program.

Goodall is the morning line favorite at 3-1 for trainer Steve Asmussen and owner Spendthrift Farm.

She has won three with one second in five starts, all this year. In addition to the taking the Jersey Girl by two-and-three-quarters lengths, the bay daughter of Yaupon also won the $150,000 Purple Martin going six furlongs at Oaklawn Park on March 14. That came after she won her second start in a six-furlong maiden special weight at Fair Grounds on February 14.

Spendthrift bought Goodall for $525,000 out of last year’s Ocala Breeders’ Sales Spring Sale where she was consigned by Tom McCrocklin.

Flavien Prat rides Goodall for third consecutive time and they will break from the outside post 10.

Completing the field are Sippin Pretty with Ricardo Santana Jr. aboard, Joel Rosario rides Iron Orchard, Carmel Coast will have Tyler Gaffalione, Sneaky Good and jockey Jose Ortiz, Tommy Jo has John Velazquez named to ride, Peach Tie with Manny Franco in the irons and Brian Hernandez Jr. will guide A Fine Chardonnay.
