Florida-breds Global Steve and Right Wing Runner return to Parx Racing Tuesday for the $75,000 City of Brotherly Love, a mile-and-one-sixteenth contest for eight 3-year-olds. Global Steve is tabbed at 4-1 on the morning line while Right Wing Runner is labeled at 8-1 in the program.
Global Steve shortens to nine furlongs from his last start on Feb. 1 when sixth in the $250,000 Withers won by Captain Cook at Aqueduct but returns to Parx where he was undefeated in two starts last year for trainer Robert Reid Jr.
The chestnut colt broke his maiden by six-and-a-half lengths against special weight company going seven furlongs in November then won the $75,000 Parx Future Stars by a length-and-a-half over a sloppy and sealed seven furlongs on Dec. 30.
Global Steve is by Bucchero out of A Rosefor Isabelle, by Hard Spun and was bred in Florida by Lance Colwell.
He has earned $77,550 for owners Cash is King LLC and LC Racing LLC. LC Racing purchased him for $60,000 out of the Two Oaks Equine consignment at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Sale of 2-Year-Olds in May of last year.
No rider has been named on Global Steve, who has drawn post five.
Right Wing Runner also had a fast start to his career, winning his first two races for trainer Scott Lake and owner Richard A. Malouf.
The bay son of Preservationists won a five-and-a-half-furlong maiden special weight at Parx on Sept. 10 before being sent to the sidelines for two months. He returned to win a first level, $75,000 optional claiming by nearly three lengths going six furlongs on muddy and sealed track at Parx on Nov. 26 but unexpectedly dropped back in the turn to finish last of seven in the aforementioned Parx Future Stars.
He made his first start this year at Laurel in the $100,000 Spectacular Bid going seven furlongs where he finished fourth behind winner Barbadian Runner after stumbling at the start. Barbadian Runner won the $99,000 Miracle Wood going a mile at Laurel in his next race on Feb. 22.
Right Wing Runner is out of Silver Lantana, by Badge of Silver and was bred in Florida by Norman Dellheim and Katie Liebe. He has earned $67,000 from two wins in four starts.
Malouf purchased Right Wing Runner for $75,000 at the 2024 Ocala Breeders’ Sales March Sale of 2-Year-Olds where he was consigned by Rubin Sanchez’s Really and Truly Thoroughbreds. Sanchez bought the colt for $10,000 out of the Thoroughstock consignment at the 2023 OBS October Yearling Sale.

Others set for the City of Brotherly Love are Baby Dukes and jockey Eliseo Ruiz, Abner Adorno takes the call on Analog Jones, Harrigan will be ridden by Mychel Sanchez, McAffe will have Joel Rosario in the saddle and Dexter Haddock will be aboard Happily Delusional.
