A six-and-a-half-length winner of his first career start, Florida-bred Global Steve parlayed his strong debut into a stakes victory with a length-and-a-half score in the $75,000 Parx Future Stars at Parx Racing Monday. Trained by Robert Reid Jr. for Cash in King LLC and LC Racing LLC, Global Steve outperformed six other 2-year-olds going seven furlongs.

Slow from the start, Global Steve and jockey Mychel Sanchez were last, about four lengths behind early leader Fire Pit as they raced out of the backstretch chute and onto the main track. After a quarter mile in :23.04, Sanchez took Global Steve to the rail where he accelerated into second as Fire Pit continued with a length advantage down the backstretch.

Global Steve used an inside move around the turn to challenge Fire Pit and those two hit the top of the stretch on near even terms while two lengths clear of Alchemism in third. Global Steve darted clear at the top of the stretch and was three lengths in front with a furlong to run as Alchemism took second on the inside.

Global Steve finished up in 1:28.01 on the sloppy and sealed track while Crab Daddy rallied late to get second. Alchemism was another neck back in third followed by Gun Trader, Baby Dukes, Fire Pit and Florida-bred Right Wing Runner.

Global Steve paid $5.80 to win as the 9-5 favorite.

The chestnut colt earned $43,800 to push his career bankroll to $73,800.

LC Racing purchased Global Steve for $60,000 out of the Two Oaks Equine consignment at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Sale in May.

Bred in Florida by Lance Colwell, Global Steve is by Bucchero out of A Rosefor Isabelle, by Hard Spun. Global Steve is a half-brother to stakes-winner Cagliostro, by Upstart, the only other starter for A Rosefor Isabelle. She has an unnamed weanling filly by City of Light and was bred to Upstart in 2024.
