ARCADIA, CA—Nooni, runner-up in the Grade 2 Oak Leaf on Oct. 5 at Santa Anita, returned to the work tab Thursday and promptly fired a bullet for trainer Bob Baffert, working five furlongs on the main track in :59.60.

From the first crop of Ocala Stud stallion Win Win Win, Nooni set the pace in the Oak Leaf before being overhauled in the stretch by stablemate Non Compliant and finishing two-and-a-quarter lengths adrift. Nooni was eight-and-a-quarter lengths clear of third-place finisher Tenma, winner of the Grade 1 FanDuel Racing Del Mar Debutante on Sept. 7.

A $1.8 million sale topper at this year’s Ocala Breeders’ Sales March Sale when purchased by Zedan Racing Stables out of the Ocala Stud consignment, Nooni is a candidate to run in the $2 million NetJets Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) to be run on Nov. 1 at Del Mar.

Nooni broke her maiden at Santa Anita on June 13, winning by nearly 10 lengths before taking the Grade 3 Sorrento by a length-and-a-half at Del Mar on Aug. 10. She then finished fifth in the Del Mar Debutante before returning in the Oak Leaf.

Nooni is out of the Union Rags mare Unanimity and was bred in Florida by Ocala Stud, Joseph M. O’Farrell III, David O’Farrell, et. al. She has earned $168,400 in her four starts.
