Stakes-winning Florida-bred Mrs Worldwide will travel to her fifth racetrack in her young career when she heads to Tampa Bay Downs for the $125,000 Sandpiper Saturday. Trained by Brian Lynch for Flying Dutchmen Racing and Breeding LLC, Mrs Worldwide is among nine 2-year-old fillies set to go six furlongs.

The purse includes a $50,000 Top 3 Bonus for Florida Sire Stakes-eligible runners presented by the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association.

Mrs Worldwide made her debut at Churchill Downs in June then broke her maiden in her second start at Ellis Park. She was bumped at the start and eased in the $129,000 Debutante at Ellis on Aug. 11 then traveled to Presque Isle Downs where she finished third behind winner Foxtastic in the $80,000 Presque Isle Downs Debutante going six-and-a-half furlongs on their synthetic track.

For her Florida homecoming, Mrs Worldwide went to Gulfstream Park on Nov. 16 and won the $65,000 Juvenile Fillies Sprint against Florida-breds going six-and-a-half furlongs.

Mrs Worldwide is by Global Campaign out of Scatmeifucan, by Scat Daddy and was bred in Florida by Rebecca Ming. With her record of two wins and two thirds in five starts, the chestnut filly has earned $79,700.

She was a $100,000 purchase by Boardshorts Stables at this year’s Ocala Breeders’ Sales March Sale where she was consigned by Dynasty Thoroughbreds.

Tabbed at 6-1 in the program, Mrs Worldwide will be ridden for the first time by Samuel Marin and they have post four. She is not eligible for the Florida Sire Stakes bonus money.

Two Florida-bred fillies enter the Sandpiper off first out victories in La Gioconda for trainer Gustavo Delgado and Carroll’s Honor from the Kevin Rice barn.

After leading from the start, La Gioconda won a six-and-a-half-furlong maiden special weight for Florida-bred fillies in the slop by seven lengths on Oct. 13 at Gulfstream Park.

La Gionconda is by Caracaro out of French Politics, by Political Force and was bred by owner GDS Racing Stable. She is not Florida Sire Stakes eligible.

La Gionconda is 8-1 on the morning line and will break from post seven with Miguel Vasquez in the irons. 

Carroll’s Honor won against $25,000 maiden claimers on debut at Tampa Bay Downs going five-and-a-half furlongs on Nov. 20.

By Pleasant Acres Stallions’ Curlin’s Honor out of Witchesofwestfield, by Cape Canaveral, Carroll’s Honor was bred by owner Donald L. Ming and is eligible for the Florida Sire Stakes bonus.

Carroll’s Honor is 20-1 on the morning line and will be ridden from post five by Israel Rodriguez.

Also entered are Hollygrove with Daniel Centeno taking the riding assignment, Tessitura and jockey Willie Martinez, Paradise City will have Micah Husbands up, Antonio Gallardo will ride Dancing Magic, Another Cleeshay will be ridden by Pablo Morales and Samy Camacho has the call on Andrea.
