A Florida-bred filly from the first crop by Golden Pal sold for $350,000 Tuesday night during the second session of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale of Selected Yearlings. Sabby Racing purchased the filly out of the Gainesway as agent consignment.
Golden Pal is an earner of more than $1.8 million and the only Florida-bred winner of two Breeders’ Cup races with victories in the 2020 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (Grade 1) and 2021 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1).
Sold as Hip 126, the filly is out of Speightstown mare Jotown, a full sister to stakes-winner Impulse Buy and the dam of three foals, one to race including Florida-bred Spiralizer, by Twirling Candy, who was third in the 2024 Skidmore Stakes. Both Spiralizer and the Golden Pal filly were bred in Florida by Bridlewood Farm. She is also the dam of the unraced 2-year-old Florida-bred Mednas, by Maclean’s Music, a $500,000 purchase by Resolute Bloodstock at last year’s Fasig-Tipton July Sale of Yearlings.
