Shadybrook Farm homebred Adios Tootsie looks to remain undefeated in her second career start when the Florida-bred filly goes postward in Sunday’s second race at Tampa Bay Downs. The Michael Yates-trained daughter of Stonehedge Farm South stallion Cajun Breeze is one of three Florida-breds in the field of six entered in the first condition, $75,000 optional claiming. The six-furlong test offers of a purse of $55,000 of which $23,000 is funded by the Florida Owners Awards program and the new Tampa Bay Downs/HBPA/Florida Fund, backed by $1.5 million in state support.
Adios Tootsie was introduced successfully on January 10 at Tampa Bay, winning a six-furlong maiden special weight for fillies with Siggy Golibrzuch aboard. They controlled the race with a length cushion through a :45.40 half mile, were briefly challenged in the stretch by longshot May Gray, but drew off late to win by a length-and-a-half. She earned $34,660 at odds of 6-1.
She is the first foal out of the stakes-winning Florida-bred mare Adios Trippi, by Ocala Stud’s Adios Charlie.
Golibrzuch has the return mount on Adios Tootsie, who breaks from post one and is the 9-5 morning line favorite.
Florida-bred Questnbled’cisions looks to win for the third time in her last four for trainer Gerald Bennett and owners Mr Pug and JPG 2.
The bay daughter of Girvin won a seven-furlong, $25,000 maiden claiming for fillies by nearly six lengths at Tampa Bay Downs on January 7 and has been solid in two starts since, both against $25,000 starter allowance, optional claiming fillies at Tampa Bay.
She won by a length-and-a-half in her next start going six-and-a-half furlongs on January 28 but was second to La Chismosa as the favorite last time on February 20.
Questnbled’cisions is out of La Concerto, by Aptitude and has won two with a second and two thirds in seven starts with earnings of $72,830.
Daniel Centeno has ridden her in her last four and continues with the assignment Sunday. She has post four and is 5-2 on the morning line.
Rory Miller will saddle Florida-bred Flowko, a homebred filly for Flying Finish Farm.
By Brethren out of Vino de Pago, by With Distinction, Flowko looks to break through on the main track after finishing second in her last two races under these conditions going a mile on the turf.
Flowko has won one of eight career starts with three seconds while banking $69,805.
Jose Ferrer will ride from post two and they are listed at 6-1 in the program.
Bakers Island with Marcos Meneses, Turkish Pistachio and jockey Samuel Marin and Permian Basin with Jesus Castanon up round out the field.
