My Kid’s Said No, a nearly 11-length winner when introduced at Gulfstream Park on May 15, travels north to Prairie Meadows for her second start in the $100,000 Prairie Gold Lassie Friday. The Tena Birdwell-trained Florida-bred is third choice on the morning line at 7-2 in the field of eight 2-year-old fillies set to go five-and-a-half furlongs.

My Kid’s Said No left little questions in her first race, quickly clearing her three rivals before reaching the turn. She led by four lengths through a :21.87 quarter-mile split and by five at the head of the stretch, eventually finishing in :58.45 on the fast track and 10 ¾ lengths in front of runner-up Melody Queen.

Purchased by owner Joseph A. Schumer for $70,000 out of the Blue River Bloodstock consignment at this year’s Ocala Breeders’ Sales March Sale, My Kid’s Said No is a half-sister to stakes-placed Florida-breds Kingpin and Lucky Mike. She is by Omaha Beach out of Under Serviced, by Hook and Ladder and was bred in Florida by Helen Barbazon and Joseph Barbazon of Morriston, Florida.

My Kid’s Said No has post six and will be ridden for the first time by Elvin Gonzalez.

The 5-2 morning line favorite is Cardio Cat, who hails from the barn of trainer Steve Asmussen for owners Bill and Corinne Heiligbrodt and Ken T. Reimer.

The bay daughter of Catalina Cruiser won her second career and most recent start, taking a restricted maiden special weight by a length-and-a-quarter going five furlongs at Churchill Downs on May 14. She was second in her first race under the same conditions but going four-and-a-half furlongs at Churchill on April 26.

Cardio Cat has post one and jockey Ramon Vasquez.

Rounding out the field are Wild Vekoma with Alfredo Triana Jr. up, Orlando Mojica Jr. rides Fizzypopberrytwist, Crusin in Harmony will have Victor Lara in the saddle, Valkyrie will be guided by Emmanuel Esquivel and Luis Saez has the assignment on Althesia.
