G W’s Girl, Decadent and Fede make up a strong contingent of Florida-breds in an even-matched field of 11 sophomore fillies entered for Saturday’s $100,000 Tyson Gilpin going seven furlongs at Colonial Downs. Mag Racing LLC’s G W’s Girl, a multiple stakes winner at Oaklawn Park during the winter, is the 9-2 second choice in the program while Decadent, who is undefeated in two starts for Magdalena Racing, is 5-1 on the morning line. Stephen Screnci’s stakes-placed homebred Fede has morning line odds of 10-1.

A winner of the $150,000 Mockingbird in January and the $150,000 Dixie Belle on Feb. 24, both at Oaklawn Park, G W’s Girl looks to return to that winning form coming off fourth-place finishes against graded stakes company in her last two starts. The chestnut daughter of Munnings was unable to make the top three in the Grade 2 Beaumont won by Verity over a sloppy seven furlongs at Keeneland on April 6 then again finished fourth in the Grade 3 Miss Preakness won by Echo Sound going six furlongs at Pimlico on May 16.

G W’s Girl is trained by Greg Compton and has won half of her six career races with earnings of $219,975. She is out of Essence of Audra, by Exchange Rate and was bred in Florida by Larry Alan Wynn.

Greg Massenelli of El Dorado, Ark., and Margaret Molleston of Houston make up Mag Racing and they purchased G W’s Girl for $130,000 out of the Triple J Equine Sales consignment at the 2024 Ocala Breeders’ Sales March Sale.

Compton has giving the riding assignment Jaime Rodriguez for the first time and they will depart from the inside post one.

Trainer Kenneth McPeek is hoping Decadent will keep her unblemished record in place as she makes her first start since March 1 when she was a three-length winner of a first condition, $100,000 optional claiming going a mile-and-a-sixteenth at Oaklawn. In her introduction, the bay daughter of Girvin won a seven-furlong maiden special weight in the slop at Gulfstream Park on Dec. 29.

Decadent is out of One More Minute, by Istan and was bred in Florida by the late Brereton C. Jones. An earner of $123,000 in her two starts, Decadent was a $100,000 purchase by McPeek as an agent out of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Select Yearling Sale in July of 2023 where she was consigned by Airdrie.

She will be ridden by Brian Hernandez Jr. from post nine.

Starting to the immediate right of Decadent in post 10 is Fede for trainer Armando De La Cerda.

Fede has won two of six races this year including a first condition, $75,000 optional claiming going a mile at Gulfstream two starts back on May 23. She exits a third-place finishing after setting the pace in the seven-furlong Azalea won by Andrea with Gilpin-rival Nerazurri second at Gulfstream on July 12. She also won a first condition allowance race for Florida-breds going a seven furlongs at Gulfstream on March 20.

Fede is by Ocala Stud stallion Adios Charlie out of Rainfall, by Blame and has a career record of three wins in nine starts with four thirds and earnings of $153,140.

John Velazquez will ride Fede.

Completing the entries are Impulse Buy, the 4-1 morning line favorite with Tyler Gaffalione taking the reins, Javier Castellano has the mount on Reputation, Zaghruta and jockey Reylu Gutierrez, Jorge Ruiz will be in the saddle for Nerazurri, Complexity Jane will have Jevian Toledo up, Coco Abarrio with rider Edgar Perez, Mychel Sanchez has the call on Dancing Magic and Ben Curtis rides Kimchi Cat.
