In to Win Racing and McEntee Racing’s Florida-bred Zee R One will line up among eight 2-year-olds making their first career starts in a four-and-a-half-furlong maiden special weight at Keeneland Thursday. Trained by Paul McEntee, Zee R One has drawn post seven in the $90,000 test and will be ridden by Augustin Gomez.
The bay colt by Raging Bull (Fr) flashed his potential with a bullet work over the synthetic course at Turfway Park on March 14, breezing three furlongs in :36 flat, the fastest of 29 at the distance that morning. Zee R One has three morning works at Keeneland since, including four furlongs in :49.40 on March 28 and three furlongs in :38 on Friday.
Bred in Florida by Judy White of Ocala, Zee R One is out of the Invincible Spirit (Ire) mare Colour Party (Ire), a producer of four winners from five previous starters and eight foals.
Zee R One is 15-1 on the morning line and is one of two entered by McEntee.
McEntee also saddles Baytown Nora, one of three fillies entered along with 6-5 program favorite Skara Brae and 3-2 morning line second choice Ruiva, both trained by Wesley Ward.
Baytown Nora is a bay daughter of McKinze and is also 15-1 on the morning line. Danny Sheehy rides from post one.
Skara Brae is owned by Ten Broeck Farm and enters off a three-furlong breeze in :35.60, the fastest of 15 at Keeneland on April 2.
Skara Brae is from the first crop by two-time Breeders’ Cup-winning Florida-bred Golden Pal, also trained by Ward, out of the War Front mare Mince. Skara Brae is the third foal out of Mince, who has one other starter in winner Diversifiedwarfare, by Munnings.
Skara Brae was purchased for $120,000 by Washington Racing Stables at the 2024 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale and is now owned by Paul Farr’s Titletown Racing Stables and BRS.
Joel Rosario will ride Skara Brae from post five.
Ruiva, by Munnings out of Minha Paixao, by Curlin, is a homebred for Three Chimney Farm.
Walter Rodriguez has the mount on Ruiva and they will break from the outside post eight.
Also entered are Crossfire with Tyler Gaffalione in the saddle, Edgar Morales has the call on Gates of Eden, Uncle With Money and jockey Luis Saez and Adam Beschizza will guide Mr. Fete.
