Multiple stakes-winning Florida-bred Drama Chorus attempts to again find his best form Friday at Tampa Bay Downs in the featured ninth race, a second condition, $32,000 optional claiming for 3-year-olds and older set to go a mile-and-a-sixteenth on the turf. Florida-breds Street Earnings and Adios Buccaneer join Drama Chorus among the 11 entries with one on the also-eligible list.

The $56,500 purse reserves $23,000 (40%) for Florida-bred contenders, part of Tampa Bay Downs’ enhanced Florida-bred program. Record Florida-bred allocations enabled by 2025 state legislation include $1.5 million at Tampa Bay Downs and $6 million at Gulfstream Park. The industry awaits Gulfstream Park’s implementation plan for its allocation.

An 8-year-old gelded son of Big Drama, Drama Chorus has a reliable record on the Tampa Bay turf, winning six of 16 races with three seconds and a third. His last win on the Tampa Bay grass was in May under the same conditions but at a mile

Drama Chorus also had good summer at Canterbury Park where he won three of four races on the grass including a nose victory in the $50,150 Brooks Fields Mile in June.

 

Trainer Tim Padilla looks for Drama Chorus to find that productive form after seeing him finish seventh last out in an upper level, $50,000 optional claiming going a mile-and-a-sixteenth on the grass at Hawthorne on Oct. 12.

A homebred for Peter D. Mattson, Drama Chorus has earned $478,650 from 13 wins, nine seconds and four thirds in 48 lifetime starts. He is out of Missmollybygolly, by Scat Daddy.

Alonso Quinonez, who has ridden Drama Chorus in 30 of his last 31 races, will again be aboard. They have post seven and are 8-1 on the morning line. 

Street Earnings has drawn post three and looks for his first win since January when he took a first condition, $25,000 optional claiming on the synthetic course at Gulfstream Park.

Trained by Mark Casse and a homebred for Live Oak Plantation, the 4-year-old gelded son of Street Boss makes his first start since Aug. 28 when seventh in a second condition, $50,000 optional claiming going nine furlongs on the Colonial Downs.

Out of the Tapit mare Souper Scoop, Street Earnings has a career ledger of three wins, three seconds and a third in 16 starts with revenues of $162,825.

Cipriano Gil will guide Street Earnings from post three and they are 10-1 in the program.

Adios Buccaneer has won two of his last three on the all-weather course at Presque Isle Downs including a second condition, $40,000 optional claiming going a mile-and-70-yards in his last race on Oct. 20. Third in a $16,000 starter allowance, optional claiming two starts back going a mile-and-a-sixteenth on Sept. 24, Adios Buccaneer previously won a first condition allowance at a mile-and-70-yards on Sept. 3.

He is trained by Lisa Allen for Algarcon Stables and sports a career record of five wins, six seconds and five thirds while earning $130,635. He is by Bucchero out of Adios Dawn, by Adios Charlie and bred by Curtis Mikkelsen and Partricial Horth.

Adios Bucchaneer will be ridden from post 10 by Mike Allen and is 15-1 on the morning line.

Rounding out the field are X Y Prime and jockey Daniel Centeno, Tok Tok with Samuel Marin up, Miguel Vasquez will ride Eldest Son, Innately Good will carry Jose Ferrer, Vesparo has Jesus Castanon taking the call, Wow Whata Party has Antonio Gallardo with the riding assignment and Junior Alvarado rides Royal Majesty. Mr Crowley is on the also-eligible list.
