GAINESVILLE, FL— The University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine will host its popular annual Open House event this year from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 11, promising a full day of fun, educational demonstrations, tours and more.
The free, family-friendly event, held at the college, 2015 SW 16th Ave. in Gainesville, is organized by third-year UF veterinary students with support from the college and sponsors. Snacks and College of Veterinary Medicine merchandise will be available, with proceeds going to UF veterinary students. U.S. News & World Report recently ranked the college No. 6 in the country.
Visitors of all ages are welcome to explore the hospital corridors and explore educational exhibits and demonstrations throughout the day, highlighting the college’s many services and medical techniques UF veterinarians use to treat animals. Pre-veterinary school advisory sessions will be offered at various times in the main auditorium.
Local food trucks will be on hand, and children can bring torn stuffed animals for repair at a teddy bear clinic.
