Ocala Breeders’ Sales conducted the first of four Under Tack programs for their annual March Sale Wednesday with three 2-year-olds clocking :9.80 eighth miles.

Kings Equine as agent sent out Hip 17 for a bullet furlong. The dark bay or brown colt is from the first crop by McKinzie and is out of the stakes-winning Artie Schiller mare Altamura. The colt is from the family of Grade 2-winner Private Creed.

Hip 26, a bay filly by Munnings also worked in :9.80 for Niall Brennan Stables as agent. She is out of the Bernardini mare Ansaam, a half-sister to Grade 1-winner Denman’s Call and Grade 3-placed Torosay.

Another McKinzie colt out of Breech Inlet, by Holy Bull worked an eighth mile in :9.80 for Ciaran Dunne’s Wavertree Stables Inc. as agent. The colt is a half-brother to Grade 2-placed, stakes-winner Merveilleux.

The fastest quarter-mile on the day was :20.80 produced by Hip 130 from the Tom McCrocklin consignment. The dark bay or brown filly is by Bee Jersey out of the More Than Ready mare Christmas Cove and is a half-sister to stakes-placed No Sabe Nada.

The under tack show continues Thursday at 8 a.m. EST with Hips 214-426. Under tack programs will also be conducted on Friday and Saturday.

The OBS March Sale will run three days next week, Tuesday through Thursday with each session set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
