Three Florida-breds, including a colt by Bridlewood Farm stallion Valiant Minister and fillies by Pleasant Acres Stallions resident Curlin’s Honor and Brooks ‘n Down, worked eighth miles in :10 flat Saturday to score among the fastest works at the distance during the fourth day of under tack works previewing the Ocala Breeders’ Sales June Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training and Horses of Racing Age. They were among seven juveniles who clocked furlongs at :10 flat Saturday while one colt by Lord Nelson breezed a quarter mile in :20.80.

The June Sale will be conducted three days next week, Wednesday through Friday, June 12-14 with the auction starting each day at 10:00 a.m. EDT.

Consigned as Hip 757 by Wildheart Thoroughbreds LLC as agent, the Valiant Minister colt is by Humoristica, by Distorted Humor, a half-sister to graded stakes-producers A.P. Few and Primaprima and stakes-producer Pas Pete (GB). The colt was bred in Florida by Baoma Corp.

The Curlin’s Honor filly is cataloged as Hip 832 and is out of Lemon’s Princess, by Lemon Drop Kid. Consigned by Two Oaks Equine, she was bred in Florida by Red Sunset Farm and offers additional value to potential buyers as eligible for the lucrative FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes program.

The Florida Sire Stakes is highlighted by the $1.2 million stakes series for 2-year-olds to be run later this year at Gulfstream Park.

The series also offers several stakes for older horses each year and eligible Florida Sire Stakes runners compete for purse bonuses in selected stakes and overnight races throughout the year at Gulfstream Park and Tampa Bay Downs.

Amazing Grace is the filly by Brooks ‘n Down that will sell as Hip 835. Consigned by Champions of the Future, the filly is out of the Fort Loudon mare Lenoir and is from the family of Grade 2-winner Straight Man and Grade 3-winner and multiple graded-stakes producer Al’s Helen. The filly was bred in Florida by Crystal Lanum.

The Lord Nelson colt will be offered as Hip 809 from the consignment of Omar Ramirez Bloodstock as agent. He is out of the Kodiak Kowboy mare Kodiak’s Dancer, a half-sister to stakes-placed Baby Gray.

Hip 860, a Florida-bred filly by Journeyman Stud stallion St Patrick’s Day was the lone 2-year-old to work a quarter mile in :21 flat Saturday. She is out of Lottery Queen, by Hear No Evil, a half-sister to stakes-winners Scandalous Act, Two T’s At Two B and Boo Boo Kitty and stakes-placed Wicked Rascal. Consigned by Tom McCrocklin as agent, the filly was bred in Florida by Mustang Farm Inc. and is eligible for the FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes.
