BY BROCK SHERIDAN

DECEMBER 28, 2002—Florida-bred The Judge Sez Who and jockey Cornelio Velasquez circled their rivals around the far turn, took over in early stretch then drew off to win the $100,000 Fred W. Hooper Handicap (Grade 3) by a length-and-a-half at Calder Race Course.

Under a 116-pound assignment and getting six pounds from top-weighted Booklet, The Judge Sez Who capped off his 3-year-old campaign with his third stakes victory of the year after taking the Grade 3 Oklahoma Derby at Remington Park in August and the $42,310 Migrating Moon at Calder in July.

Paying $9.20 to win, The Judge Sez Who earned $60,000 to increase his career bankroll to $652,876. Best of the Rest, the 8-5 favorite, was second with Dancing Guy third and Booklet fourth, completing a Florida-bred superfecta.

Owned and bred in Florida by Sez Who Thoroughbreds, The Judge Sez Who would retire in 2005 with earnings of $953,039 from eight wins in 36 starts with six seconds and six thirds. By Judge TC out of Mandy Mack, by Native Prospector, The Judges Sez Who was trained throughout his career for Milton Wolfson.
