2001 – Smok’n Frolic won the Grade 3 Tempted under jockey John Velazquez at Belmont Park, covering the mile in 1:37.77 on the fast track.
Trained by Todd Pletcher for Dogwood Stables, Smok’n Frolic won the $111,500 Tempted by six-and-a-quarter lengths as the 2-1 favorite to take her first of five career graded stakes and her first since winning the $82,225 Fashion at Belmont Park in June of 2001. From the first crop of Smoke Glacken, Smok’n Frolic was out of Cherokyfrolicflash, by Green Dancer and was bred by Cherokee Farms Inc.
Smok’n Frolic would retire with nine wins, eight seconds and two thirds and earnings of $1,534,720.
As a broodmare, she produced Canadian Champion Older Horse Hunters Bay and multiple Japanese stakes-winner Wild Flapper (Jpn), both by Ghostzapper. She also produced Japanese stakes-placed Big Smoky (Jpn), by King Kamehameha (Jpn).
