2000 – Florida-bred Band is Passing wins his third consecutive race and second straight stakes in taking the Grade 2 Appleton at Gulfstream Park by two-and-three-quarter lengths.
Bred, owned and trained by Stanley M. Ersoff, Band is Passing was by Pass the Line out of Fairforband, by Fairway Fortune and retired in 2002 with 13 wins from 29 starts with seven seconds and three thirds, earning $772,406.
He won the Miami Mile Breeders’ Cup Handicap at Calder in 2000 and 2002, the latter of which was Grade 3. He also won the Grade 3 Tropical Turf Handicap at Calder in 2002.
