Happy Birthday Supah Blitz

2000 – Happy Birthday to Florida-bred millionaire and multiple graded stakes-winner Supah Blitz, born on this day in 2000 for breeders Bee Bee Stables Inc. and Equitor Inc.

Supah Blitz was trained early in his career by Emanuel Tortora for Bee Bee Stables and Jacqueline Tortora, for whom he won the $150,000 Jack Price Juvenile at Calder in 2022 and the $50,000 Roman Brother at Calder the following year.

In 2004, the son of Mecke sold to Kagele Brothers Inc. and Mark Lieb and shipped to Southern California to win the Grade 2 Del Mar Breeders’ Cup under jockey Victor Espinoza for trainer Doug O’Neil. His new connections then returned him to Florida to win that year’s $200,000 Carl Rose Classic at Calder with Jerry Bailey aboard then sent him back to the west coast.

In 2005, Supah Blitz won the Grade 3 Tokyo City Handicap as the 7-5 favorite with Espinoza again in the saddle and the Grade 3 Lone Star Park Handicap with O’Neil giving the riding assignment to Jon Court.

Out of Boots ‘N Jackie, by Major Moran, Supah Blitz finished his career with eight wins in 41 races with 13 seconds and six thirds with earnings of $1,324,330.
