HB 881 passed the House Subcommittee on Industries & Professional Activities today, an expected outcome as the decoupling bill begins its journey through the legislative process.
The Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association was joined in opposition by the Florida Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association, the Tampa Bay HBPA and Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company. This industry-wide consensus reflects our shared commitment to protecting Florida’s thoroughbred breeding and racing economy.
“We’re encouraged that Florida’s major industry stakeholders stand united on this issue,” FTBOA CEO Lonny Powell said. “The bill has a long path ahead and we will continue making the case for Florida’s thoroughbred industry at every opportunity.”
The FTBOA will remain engaged as HB 881 advances through remaining committee stops.
