Lea Farm homebred Snowhomish romped home to win by eight-and-a-half lengths in his first start, winning a $25,000 maiden claiming for six 2-year-olds at Delaware Park Friday. Trained by Jorge Delgado and ridden by Carlos Rojas, Snowhomish completed five-and-a-half furlongs in 1:05.38 with jockey Carlos Rojas aboard.

Snowhomish broke well from post four then battle for the lead with Chasing Cad, Bearing Witness and Nazeer before emerging to get a short lead while four-wide in the turn. He clicked clear past the quarter-mile marker then pulled away to hit the wire far ahead of Bearing Witness in second with Nazeer two lengths farther back in third.

Let go at 5-1, Snowhomish paid $12.20 to win.

Snowhomish is by Rock Your World out of the winning Into Mischief mare Pocket Book and earned $14,400 for the win. Pocket Book has two starters, both winners, from five foals. She has an unnamed yearling colt by Florida-bred Lightening Larry and was bred to Dornoch in 2026.
