David Scanlon and Blair King have purchased the renowned 240-acre training facility in Ocala formerly owned by legendary horsemen Eddie and Angela Woods.

The comprehensive facility features 196 stalls, six barns, 41 paddocks and both dirt and turf training tracks, providing a turnkey operation for their expanding business.

Eddie and Angela Woods recently retired from their distinguished consigning careers after developing champions like Big Brown and Lady Eli.

Scanlon’s training program has produced a long list of accomplished Thoroughbreds including Sierra Leone, an earner of more than $6.8 million and winner of last week’s Grade 1 Whitney at Saratoga Race Course and last year’s Grade 1 Longiness Breeders’ Cup Classic at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club.

This year the Scanlon Training and Sales consignment sold a Nyquist colt for $1 million during the Ocala Breeders’ Sales March Sale.

Scanlon reportedly plans to relocate all operations from his prior address at Oak Ridge Training Center by late August.
