Several Florida-bred yearlings continued to attract six-figure purchase prices at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale including Hip 2222, a filly by McKinzie that went to trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. on Monday for $170,000. Consigned by Paramount Sales as agent, the bay filly is out of the winning Trappe Shot mare Shotdowninflames, a half-sister to Grade 3-winner Luan Time. The filly was bred by in Florida by Castle Gate Farm LLC.
On Sunday, S.O.K. Racing and Tareq Moubarek as agent purchased Hip 1942, a bay filly from the first crop by the late Florida stallion Uncle Chuck for $150,000. The filly is out of the winning Daredevil mare Champina, a half-sister to stakes-placed runners Payday Too and Forty Nine Watts. She was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency as agent and was bred in Florida by Dominique Damico.
On Monday, Oracle Bloodstock as agent put in the top bid of $130,000 for Hip 2134, a Florida-bred colt by Good Magic out of the stakes-winning, Florid-bred mare Money Or Love, by J Be K. The colt is consigned by Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa as agent and Money or Love is a half-sister to Florida-bred multiple graded stakes-winner World of Trouble and Florida-bred stakes-placed Alfie Solomons. The colt was bred in Florida by Good Magic Syndicate and Darsan Inc.
Two Florida-bred yearlings sold for $110,000 each Monday.
Hip 1751, a Florida-bred filly by Girvin, went to BSW/Crow, Agent for $110,000. Consigned by Four Star Sales as agent, the bay filly is out of Presage, by Jimmy Creed and is from the family of multiple graded stakes-winner Ventana and champion Lord Avie. The filly was bred in Florida by Carol Ann Reitman, Susan Gannon and Warren Miller. Reitman, Gannon and Miller have also gained recent notoriety as the breeders of stakes-winner Gabaldon.
Al Pike as agent purchased Hip 1969, a Florida-bred colt by Maclean’s Music out of Curls for Girls, by Curlin. Curls for Girls is a full-sister to graded stakes-placed Conquest Curlgirl and a half-sister to Grade 3-winner and multiple graded stakes-producer Sue’s Good Magic and multiple graded stakes-placed Easyfromthegitgo. The colt was consigned by Four Star Sales as agent for Westbury Stables and was bred in Florida by Al Figliolia Westbury Stables LLC.
Barry Berkelhammer as agent purchased Hip 1807, a Florida-bred colt by Girvin, for $100,000. Consigned by St. George Sales as agent, the colt is out of the unraced Zensational mare Silver To Gold and is from the family of multiple graded stakes-winning and graded stakes-producer Seattle Smooth. The colt was bred in Florida by Brad and Misty Grady.
In early action Tuesday, Hip 2580, a Florida-bred colt by Ocala Stud stallion Win Win Win sold for $100,000 to Louis Dubois as agent. Consigned by Airdrie Stud Raised and Offered, the bay colt is out of One More Minute, by Istan, a half-sister to stakes-winner Chief Istan, stakes-placed Hay Field and stakes-producer True Martha. The colt was bred in Florida by the late Brereton C. Jones.
