As we open the gates on a new year for the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association, I invite each of you to meet me at the starting gate. Together, we’ll take this ride — one stride, one furlong, one finish line at a time — celebrating our shared commitment to Florida’s horse industry and the people who make it thrive.
The starting gate represents potential and anticipation. It’s that moment when preparation meets purpose — when all the hard work, planning, and partnership come together to propel us forward. This year, FTBOA is focused on further strengthening the programs, relationships, and advocacy that keep Florida-breds running strong. From legislative efforts in Tallahassee to our continued investment in incentives, we’re setting the pace for progress.
As industry stakeholders, we know the power of collaboration—on the track, in the barn, and across the community. That same teamwork is what drives our Association. Whether you’re a breeder, owner, trainer or supporter, every member has a role in moving the industry forward. Your voice matters, your participation matters and your belief in the future of Florida racing matters.
Politics is local, and success in Tallahassee comes from Florida voices working together. When we align our efforts and speak with a unified message, we strengthen the impact of our legislative initiatives and protect the future of our industry. After more than a decade soaring and succeeding, almost always solo, in Tallahassee, we welcome and value partnerships with all who share our goals. But, collaboration works best when guided by those who understand Florida’s unique political landscape, relationships, and priorities. Our state’s leaders respond most effectively to clear, consistent advocacy from within the Florida Thoroughbred community.
With our proven track record, strong relationships, established framework, and not-for-profit mission, we are well-positioned to continue leading the charge for the benefit of everyone who depends on Florida’s industry. As we head down the stretch of 2025 and into a new year of opportunity, let’s stay united in purpose and proud of our place in the Thoroughbred world.
