Florida-bred Party Mix and jockey Miguel Vasquez were a length-and-a-half back a furlong out then came with professional-looking rush on the inside to win her first career start, a $70,000 maiden special weight for 2-year-old fillies going five-furlongs on the turf at Gulfstream Park Saturday.

Trained by Nolan Ramsey for Kenneth L. Ramsey, Party Mix started well from post one as American Reign went to the front with Florida-bred Goddess of Beauty just off her outside hip. Party Mix was taken two lengths back and ran as a team with Early Spark. American Reign turned for home a length in front of Goddess of Beauty to her outside as Party Mix was two-and-a-half lengths back in fourth after saving ground in the turn. After setting fractions of :21.63 and :44.05 on the firm turf, American Reign was still a length clear past the eighth pole before Party Mix quickly spurted through a seem to her inside to win by a half-length. Goddess of Beauty completed the Florida-bred exacta in the three path, crossing the wire a half-length in front of American Reign in third. Early Spark, Promenade Queen, Causeshzprecocious, and Florida-breds Hattie G and Beautiful Tapdance completed the order of finish.

Party Mix earned $39,000 and paid $4.80 to win as the 7-5 favorite.

Kenneth Ramsey bought Party Mix for $50,000 out of the 2026 OBSOnline April Second Chance Sale where she was consigned by Jimbo and Torie Gladwell’s Top Line Sales. She was first consigned at OBS by Lisa McGreevy’s Abbie Road Farm during the 2024 Winter Mixed Sale where Robert Creaton took her for $30,000. She also sold for $30,000 to Wanda Will at the 2025 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

Party Mix is from the first crop by Florida-bred multiple graded stakes-winning turf sprinter Golden Pal, an earner of $1.8 million and a two-time Breeders’ Cup winner. She is out of the Florida-bred Point of Entry mare Expect an Entry and was bred in Florida by Helen and Joseph Barbazon of Morriston. Party Mix is the fourth foal out of Expect an Entry, who has one other winner. Expect an Entry has an unnamed yearling filly and an unnamed weanling colt, both by Verifying and bred in Florida by the Barbazons. Verifying stands at the Barbazon’s Pleasant Acres Stallions.

Expect an Entry is half-sister to stakes-winning, stakes-producer Becky’s Exchange; stake-placed runners Cape Cod Carol and Believeinmenow; and multiple stakes-producer Sky Glazer.
