Calypso Racing Stables 2022 LLC’s Pardy Pleaser went to the lead inside the final sixteenth of a mile to win a $35,000 maiden claiming at Gulfstream Park Saturday and give her sire, Rogueish, his first winner.

Trained by Saffie Joseph Jr. and ridden by Edgard Zayas, Pardy Pleaser won by two-and-three-quarter lengths in :57.82 after rallying from fifth in the field of seven 2-year-old fillies going five furlongs on the all-weather course. It was the third career start for the bay filly, who is out of Kitten Squared, by Kitten’s Joy and was bred in Florida by Edward Seltzer. The bay filly has career earnings of $26,400.

Florida-breds Pleasant Embrace and Kaitie Kait were second and third respectively.

Pardy Pleaser paid $5.40 to win.

Rogueish, who stands at Solera Farm in Williston, Fla., is by Into Mischief out of the Rahy mare Verdana Bold, winner of the Grade 3 Selene at Woodbine in 2008. Rogueish stood the 2024 breeding season for a fee of $2,500.
