OCALA, FL—The Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company will hold their first auction of 2024 as the Winter Mixed Sale gets underway on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The sale begins on Tuesday at 12 noon with Hips 1 – 122 plus supplements 123-137 cataloged in the Consignor Preferred Session. The Horses of Racing Session, cataloged as Hips 201-265 plus supplements 266-276, begins immediately following the conclusion of the Preferred Session. The Open Session, with Hips 401 – 643 plus supplements 644-663 cataloged, is set for Wednesday and also starts at 12 noon.
The Horses of Racing Age were showcased during the optional Under Tack Show Monday at the OBS Training Center.
The supplemental catalog will be available in print at the sales grounds.
The Preferred Session features yearlings by first crop sires Leinster, who stands in Florida at Pleasant Acres Stallions; the late Florida sire Uncle Chuck, By My Standards, Charlatan, Independence Hall, Lexitonian, Modernist, Rushie, Silver State, Waiting and Yaupon.
Other Florida sires represented in the Preferred Session include Arindel’s Brethren, Stonehedge Farm South resident Cajun Breeze and Gunnevera, who stands at Pleasant Acres Stallions.
Florida sires represented in the Open Session include Adios Charlie, Awesome Slew, Battalion Runner, Chance It, Curlin’s Honor, Dak Attack, First Dude, Khozan, Neolithic, Rogueish, St Patrick’s Day, Sweetontheladies, Tunwoo, Valiant Minister and Win Win Win.
Also available are mares in foal to Florida sires Awesome Slew, Battalion Runner, Brethren, Chitu, Gretzky the Great, Gunnevera, Khozan, Magic On Tap, No Never No More, Roadster, Rogueish, Seeking the Soul, St Patrick’s Day, Sweetontheladies, Tunwoo, Valiant Minister and Win Win Win.
