Now trained by John and Thady Gosden after beginning her career in the U.S. with George Weaver, the 4-year-old filly produced a devastating turn of foot to pass all of her rivals and score by a length and three-quarters in the Group 2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot June 18.
Crimson Advocate earned her first Royal Ascot triumph when she captured the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes in 2023. She was purchased by Dewsweepers II for $100,000 out of the Beth Bayer consignment at the 2022 OBS October Yearling Sale.
Featured on the back cover are a pair of OBS October stalwarts in multiple graded stakes winner and millionaire Mystic Lake (Mo Town – Salty Soul, by Itsmyluckyday) and Grade 1 winner Trikari (Oscar Performance – Dynamic Holiday, by Harlan’s Holiday).
Named the 2024 Florida-bred Horse of the Year, Mystic Lake recently earned her third straight stakes win when she took the $250,000 Misty Bennett Pink Ribbon Stakes at Charles Town Races on Aug. 22. The victory marked the ninth stakes win for the filly trained by Saffie Joseph Jr. for C Two Racing Stables, Stefania Farms and BAG Racing and increased her career earnings to more than $1.36 million. She was sold by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck) to Tom McCrocklin, agent for $3,500 at the 2022 October Yearling Sale and was later purchased for $130,000 out of the Tom McCrocklin consignment at the 2023 OBS March Sale.
Amerman Racing LLC’s Trikari earned his biggest career win when he took the 2024 edition of the Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes (G1). The Graham Motion trainee, who was consigned by Ordonez Thoroughbreds to the 2022 October Yearling Sale and purchased by Amerman Racing for $27,500, has won three graded stakes thus far in his career with earnings of nearly $1.4 million.
