OCALA, FL—The catalog for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2024 June Two-Year-Olds in Training and Horses of Racing Age Sale is now available via the OBS website. The sale and under tack show were each shifted to start one day earlier than originally scheduled to allow inspection and travel time for those attending Belmont Stakes weekend held this year at Saratoga.
A total of 994 horses, including 980 2-year-olds and 14 Horses of Racing Age, are in the main catalog for the three-day sale, set for Wednesday, June 12 through Friday, June 14. All sessions begin at 10:00 a.m. EDT.
Wednesday will feature 2-year-olds selling as Hips 1 – 350. Thursday will be 2-year olds selling as Hips 351 – 700. On Friday 2-year-olds will sell as Hips 701 – 980 (plus 2-year-old supplements) followed by horses of racing age selling as Hips 1101 – 1114 (plus horses of racing age supplements).
The deadline for supplemental entries is May 22, 2024 at noon.
The Under Tack Show will span six days: Tuesday, June 4 through Sunday, June 9, with all sessions beginning at 7:30 a.m. The Hip Number breakdown will be announced following the closing of supplemental entries.
As always, the Under Tack Show and Sale will be streamed live via the OBS website.
The catalog cover is a testament to the quality of OBS June Sale graduates.
The front cover features Michael Lund Petersen’s Adare Manor, recent winner of the $1,250,000 Apple Blossom Handicap (G1) at Oaklawn Park. It was the second Grade 1 victory for the 5-year-old mare by Uncle Mo, trained by Bob Baffert, a six-time graded stakes winner with a career record of eight wins and five seconds in 18 starts and $1,736,600 in earnings.
OBS will again offer online bidding during the June Sale. Buyers may go to the OBS website and register to gain bidding approval, then access the OBS Bidding Screen with their credentials.
