Led by Palm Beach Racing V LLC’s Miss Mary Nell, a trio of Florida-bred fillies will try to upset the $95,000 Our Dear Peggy at Gulfstream Park Saturday. A full gate of a dozen 2-year-old fillies have entered the Our Dear Peggy, set for one mile on the turf.

The purse includes a $20,000 Top 3 bonus for Florida-breds presented by the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owner’ Association.

Miss Mary Nell makes her second attempt against stakes fillies after finishing fourth in the $85,000 Hallandale Beach won by Andre going a mile on a good main track at Gulfstream Park on Sept. 14. After racing far back early, the Carlos David-trained filly improved position late to hit the board in her first start since breaking her maiden going seven-and-a-half furlongs on the turf at Gulfstream in August.

Miss Mary Nell comes into the Our Dear Peggy after finishing third behind winner and Our Dear Peggy rival Hello Hello Hello in a non-winners of two, $75,000 optional claiming going a mile-and-70-yards on the synthetic course at Gulfstream on Oct. 5.

“The filly won a maiden special weight on the turf. Going on Tapeta last time, it was a little bit of a question mark coming off the turf. I think she got kind of flat,” David said. “I really like her. She handles the turf well. I decided to go into the stake, which makes sense. As long as it stays on the turf, I think she will run well. If it comes off the turf, I’ll probably take her out.”

Miss Mary Nell is by Girvin out of Tempest’s Flash, by It’s No Joke and was bred in Florida by Palm Beach Racing III LLC. She has one win in five starts with two thirds while earning $62,673.

Set at 10-1 on the morning line, Miss Mary Nell will be ridden by Miguel Vasquez from the inside post one.

Racing in the red, white and black colors of Live Oak Plantation will be Florida-bred Paradise Wins for trainer Michael Trombetta.

A homebred daughter of Bernardini, Paradise Wins exits a head victory in a maiden special weight for fillies going a mile-and-a-sixteenth at Laurel Park on Sept. 8. That was the third career start for Paradise Wins, who was unsuccessful in two attempts against special weight maiden fillies on the turf at Monmouth Park in July and August.

Paradise Wins is out of Bird of Paradise, by Summer Bird and has earned $33,550 in her three races.

Trombetta has given the riding assignment to Paco Lopez and they will break from post eight. Paradise Wins is 12-1 on the morning line.

Florida-bred Hot Dream makes her stakes debut after winning a maiden special weight for Florida-bred fillies going seven-and-a-half furlongs on the turf in her second career race.

Trained by Dennis Manning for Stretch Run LLC, Hot Dream was second to Kurutu in her first start against $16,000 maiden claiming fillies on synthetic at Gulfstream on Aug. 23.

Hot Dream is by Always Dreaming out of Heat Transfer, by Latent Heat and she has earned $29,400 in her two starts.

Jockey Richard Bracho gets the return mount from post 11 and they are 20-1 in the program.

Saffie Joseph Jr. trains Ramsey Pond, the 5-2 morning line favorite for owner Kenneth L. Ramsey.

Ramsey Pond invades from Kentucky Downs where she won a one-mile maiden special weight on the turf by nearly five lengths on Sept. 11.

Edgard Zayas picks up the mount on Ramsey Pond and they have drawn post seven.

Rounding out the field are Unchained Elaine and jockey Joe Bravo, It’s Witchcraft with Emisael Jaramillo in the saddle, Brenna will be ridden by Jose Morelos, Lemonpeppasteppa has Samy Camacho named to ride, Bellavino with jockey Drayden Van Dyke, Edwin Gonzales takes the call on Special Aviator, Edgar Perez rides Obliging and Hello Hello Hello will be ridden by Leonel Reyes.
