Jasmine Ayala joined the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association for a two-month volunteer internship in the membership and events department, where she focused on marketing, promotions, events, and graphic design while learning aspects of the Florida Thoroughbred industry.

An Ocala native, she graduated with honors from Belleview High School with a focus in art and design. Adept at learning new computer programs, she gained experience with Constant Contact, Canva, Excel spreadsheets, and online fundraising platforms including 32 Auctions.

Beginning in September, she assisted with events including the industry golf tournament, silent auction, and brunch logistics. Her hobby is creating anime art with well-developed characters.

“I was surprised on day one when Jasmine was able to so quickly learn on her own several online design programs. She naturally jumps right in and is intuitive when it comes to computer programs, designing flyers, and content. It’s her passion,” FTBOA Associate VP, Membership and Events Tammy A. Gantt said.

Her goal was to learn more about design and marketing tools that can help her gain admission to the Savannah College of Art and Design.
