Four attractive Florida-bred yearlings hit the auction ring this week at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale to be conducted Monday and Tuesday in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Sessions will begin each evening at 6:30 p.m. in the Humphrey S. Finney Sales Pavilion.
Eaton Sales, agent, is offering Hip 23, a Florida-bred colt by Quality Road out of Come A Callin, by Dixie Union. The colt is a half-brother to Florida-bred Caledonia Road, the 2017 champion 2-year-old filly and winner of the Grade 1 14 Hands Winery Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies; multiple Grade 3-winning Florida-bred Officiating, stakes-winning Florida-bred One of a Kind and stakes-producer Lady Esme, the dam of Grade 2 Wood Memorial-winner Lord Miles. He was bred by Peter Vegso’s Vegso Racing Stables Inc.
Hip 37 is a Florida-bred colt from the first crop by Gunnevera, who stands Pleasant Acres Stallions, out of Emotional Roar, by Roar of the Tiger. Consigned by Machmer Hall Sales, agent, the colt was bred by Ivan Carrera. Emotional Roar is a half-sister to Grade 3-winner Mayakovsky and graded stakes-producers Uniquely Appealing and Emotional Outburst.
Francis and Barbara Vanlangendonck’s Summerfield are consigning Hip 124, a colt by War of Will out of the stakes-placed, Scat Daddy mare Pappascat bred by George and Karen Russell’s Rustlewood Farm. The colt is a half-brother to Grade 2 Best Pal-winning Florida-bred Pappacap and Grade 3 With Anticipation-winning Florida-bred Boppy O.
Hip 141 is a Florida-bred filly by McKinzie out of the stakes-winning mare Renda, by Medaglia d’Oro consigned by Gainesway Farm as an agent for Bridlewood Farm. The filly is a half-sister to Grade 1 Vosburgh and Grade 1 Vanderbilt-winner Rock Fall and was bred by Bridlewood Farm.
