Florida-bred yearlings rebounded at the 2025 Ocala Breeders Sales Company October Yearling Sale with improved metrics that more closely mirror the 2023 marketplace than 2024’s hurricane-disrupted results.

Perhaps most encouraging, Florida-breds demonstrated stability with just 18% of their offerings classified as RNA (Reserve Not Attained), outperforming the overall sale’s 26% RNA rate. This stands in contrast to 2024, when 30% of Florida-breds failed to meet their reserves—a 12-percentage-point improvement that signals renewed buyer confidence. The 2025 RNA rate matches the 18% figure from 2023, suggesting a return to normalized market conditions.

The average price for Florida-breds climbed to $20,618, up 16% from 2024’s $17,794, while the median rose from $9,500 to $11,000, a 16% increase that suggests broader market participation across price points.

Florida-breds maintained their strong presence in the catalog, comprising 45% of all offerings, consistent with recent years.
