All That Magic will face a familiar group of rivals while Ms. Bucchero makes her first start on grass Saturday in the $100,000 Sensible Lady Turf Dash at Laurel Park. The two Florida-breds are among a full field of 10 fillies and mares plus three on the also eligible list entered for the six-furlong turf contest.
Trained by Kathleen DeMasi for Pewter Stable and Spedale Family Racing LLC, All That Magic exits a fourth-place finish in the $99,000 Incredible Revenge won by Love Appeals going five furlongs on the turf at Monmouth Park on Aug. 11. After pressing the pace early, All That Magic finished just two-and-a-half lengths behind the winner and another length-and-quarter shy of runner-up Shoshanah.
Two starts back, she was fifth in the $106,000 Goldwood won by Florida-bred Beauty of the Sea with Queen of the Mud (Ire) second while sprinting on the Monmouth turf on June 22.
All That Magic will again face Love Appeals, Shoshanah and Queen of the Mud, who are all entered for the Sensible Lady.
Bred in Florida by English Range Farm, All That Magic is by Fast Anna out of Hermione’s Magic, by Forest Wildcat. She has won six with a second and two thirds in 14 starts with earnings of $237,757.
Jerion Barbosa will ride All That Magic for the first time and they will break from post four.
In addition to making her debut on grass, Ms. Bucchero also tries for her first stakes victory.
While on dirt, Ms. Bucchero has been in good form in three starts this year with two seconds and a win. Two starts back, she triumphed against allowance fillies going six furlongs at Laurel on June 21 then was second to Apple Picker in the $100,000 Alma North traveling six-and-a-half furlongs at Laurel on July 28. She started the year in May with a second-place finish to Empress Deona in a third condition, $50,000 optional claiming going six furlongs at Parx.
The 4-year-old daughter of Bucchero out of Give Glory to God, by Mutakddim is trained by Diane Morici and owned by Morici Racing Stable LLC. She was bred in Florida by Pamela Edel and sports a consistent career ledger of six wins and three seconds in 12 starts.
J.G. Torrealba will ride Ms. Bucchero from post seven.
Love Appeals tries for her third straight having won a second condition, $40,000 optional claiming going five furlongs on the Monmouth Park turf on July 19 before winning the Incredible Revenge.
The 4-year-old daughter of Speightstown has two other starts this year, finishing third in an upper level, $62,500 optional claiming going six furlongs on the main track at Gulfstream Park in April and was sixth after a bad start in a second level, $62,500 optional claiming over a sloppy five-and-a-half furlongs at Churchill Downs in May.
Owned by Moyglare Stud Farm Ltd, Love Appeals is trained by Christophe Clement and will be ridden by Vincent Cheminaud from post three.
She has won four with three thirds in 10 starts with earnings of $224,520.
Others entered are Blame Day, who will be ridden by Gavin Ashton; Jorge Ruiz rides Queen of the Mud, Hay Stack does not have rider named, Anaita with jockey Wesley Ho, Loon Cry with Mychel Sanchez in the saddle, Shoshanah has Daniel Centeno taking the call and Sheldon Russell will be in the irons on L Street Lady. Alla Brave, Carolina Hideway and Isabel Alexandra (Ire) are on the also-eligible list.
