An FTBOA registered Florida-bred colt by Vekoma dropped the gavel at $325,000 Saturday during the fifth session of the 12-session Keeneland September Yearling Sale. Consigned by Eaton Sales as agent and cataloged as Hip 1439, the colt is out of the Formal Dinner mare Blue Katana, a full sister to multiple graded stakes-placed Cosmo Bell and a half-sister to stakes-winner Bernie Blue and stakes-placed Pyrite Blues. Osiris Racing Stables purchased the colt, who is a half-brother to stakes winners Crafty Blue Kat and Pyrite Blue Magna. The colt was bred in Florida by Jennifer A. Johnson and Gillian K. Johnson.
Another FTBOA-registered Florida-bred that sold well was Hip 1181 that went to Gin and Tonic Stables for $210,000 out of the Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa as agent consignment. The bay filly by Ghostzapper is out of the stakes-placed mare Madam Aamoura, by Zensational. The filly’s third dam is multiple graded stakes-winner Anguilla. The filly was bred in Florida by The Ghostzapper Syndicate, Elizabeth LaPierre and Jennifer Given.
Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners went to $240,000 to acquire Hip 1540, an FTBOA-registered filly by first crop sire Epicenter out of Grade 1 Darley Alcibiades-winner Gomo, by Uncle Mo. Gomo is also a half-sister to stakes-producer Gentle Caroline. The filly was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency as agent for Bridlewood Farm, who bred the filly.
