Donald R. Dizney’s homebred Princess Bettina will attempt her second added-money victory of the year in her graded-stakes debut in the $175,000 Lake George at Saratoga Friday. The Grade 3 Lake George has attracted a field of 10 3-year-old fillies who will race one mile on the turf with the Chad Brown-trained Liguria the morning line favorite at 3-1.

Assigned morning line odds of 12-1, Princess Bettina makes her second start for trainer Todd Pletcher after shipping east from the Peter Eurton barn in Southern California. In her last in Southern California on March 18 at Santa Anita, Princess Bettina was a four-and-a-quarter-length winner after leading from start to finish in the $100,000 China Doll going a mile on the turf.

Just prior to the China Doll, in her first race in a stakes, Princess Bettina was third, just a length off winner Ag Bullet, in the $101,000 Lady Shamrock at a mile on the grass at Santa Anita on Feb. 12.

Princess Bettina is by Will Take Charge out of Aiden’s Girl, by Double Diamond Farm stallion First Dude and sports a career record of two wins and four thirds in eight starts with earnings of $148,160.

Pletcher has named Dylan Davis to ride Princess Bettina and they will break from post nine.

Liguria comes into the Lake George looking for her second straight stakes victory after winning the $150,000 Wild Applause by three-quarters of a length over a mile on the turf at Belmont Park on June 24.
