Cody’s Wish Florida-bred sells for $250,000

A Florida-bred filly by Practical Joke sold for $325,000 and a Florida-bred colt from the first crop by Cody’s Wish dropped the gavel at $250,000 Tuesday night, the second and final session of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale of selected yearlings in Saratoga Springs, New York.

First Row Partners, BSW/Crow as agent purchased Hip 225, the filly by Practical Joke, consigned by Gainesway as agent. The filly is out of the unraced Speightstown mare Jotown and is a half-sister to stakes-placed Florida-bred Spiralizer, by Twirling Candy. Second dam Jojo Warrior, by Pioneerof the Nile, is a multiple graded stakes winner and the dam of stakes-winner Impulse Buy, a full sister to Jotown. The filly was bred in Florida by Julia Sears’ Nicksar Farm based in Ocala.

Japanese trainer and international bloodstock agent Hideyuki Mori took Hip 214, the Cody’s Wish colt out of unraced mare Haraawa, by Medaglia d’Oro. The colt was consigned by St George Sales as agent. Bred in Florida by Leslie and John Malone’s Bridlewood Farm, Cody’s Gold is a half-brother to Florida-bred Munny’s Gold, who was third in the Grade 1 Test, second in the Grade 2 Eight Belles and won the $100,000 Stonehedge Farm South Sophomore Fillies at Tampa Bay Downs. Second dam is stakes-placed Alseera, by Distorted Humor and a half-sister to stakes-winner Unico Idolo.
