Trainer Kelsey Danner has Florida-bred Mohawk Trail scheduled to make her first start since March in the $135,000 Floral Park during the Belmont at Big A meet at Aqueduct Saturday. The six-furlong grass contest has attracted a full gate of 10 fillies and mares, plus Florida-bred Dream Concert and three others on the also-eligible list.

A winner of two stakes on the Woodbine turf last year, Mohawk Trail was last seen finishing second to Charlie’s Wish in the $110,000 Pleasant Acres Distaff Turf for Florida-bred fillies and mares on March 24 at Tampa Bay Downs. Her two Woodbine victories in 2023 came in the CA$100,000 Alywow going six-and-a-half furlongs in June and in the Grade 3 Ontario Colleen at a mile in July.

In one other start this year the daughter of Pioneerof the Nile was fifth, two-and-a-half lengths behind winner Chili Flag in the Grade 3 Honey Fox going a mile on the Gulfstream Park turf on March 2.

Mohawk Trail has earned $235,127 for owner NBS Stable from four wins with two seconds and a third in 12 starts. She is out of Iroquois Girl, by Indian Charlie and was bred in Florida by Westbury Stables LLC.

Adam Beschizza has the mount from post nine and they are 10-1 on the morning line.

Trainer Chad Brown has Risk Threshold (Ire) looking for her first stakes victory after winning her last two.

The 4-year-old daughter of Dubawi (Ire) out of Priceless (GB), by Exceed and Excel (Aus) broke her maiden by a length-and-a-half on the grass on June 28 then won a first level allowance race for fillies and mares by four lengths on Sept. 14 – both at six furlongs on the Aqueduct turf.

Risk Threshold is owned by Seth Klarmin’s Klaravich Stables Inc. and has earned $120,363 from two wins, a second and a third in four starts.

Manny Franco will ride from post five and they are the 5-2 morning line favorite.

Rounding out the field are Loon Cry with jockey Joel Rosario, Hollywood Walk and rider Eric Cancel, Love Appeals has Dylan Davis named to ride, Kendrick Carmouche will be aboard Secret Money, Cecile and jockey Katie Davis, Tequilera will have Jose Gomez in the irons, Howboutdemapples will be ridden by Rajiv Maragh and Jose Lezcano has the call on My Kentucky Girl. Hot Fudge, Dream Concert Security Code and Everyoneloveslinda are on the also-eligible list.
