A winner of her only start against fillies at Delaware Park, G W’s Girl takes on the boys in her stakes debut in the $250,000 Indian Summer presented by Keeneland Select at Keeneland Race Course Sunday. High-percentage trainer Greg Compton will send the Florida-bred filly five-and-a-half furlongs on the turf in the field of a dozen 2-year-olds with one on the also-eligible list.

G W’s Girl began her career with stalking victory going five-and-a-half furlongs on the Delaware Park turf on Sept. 19, making up three lengths in the stretch to catch 2-5 favorite Belle of South to win by a length-and-a-half in :59.16 on the firm turf.

By Munning’s out of Essence of Audre, by Exchange Rate, G W’s Girl was bred in Florida by Larry Alan Wynn. She races in the purple and gold colors of Mag Racing LLC, who purchased her for $130,000 out of the Triple J Equine Sales consignment at this year’s Ocala Breeders’ Sales March Sale.

G W’s Girl has drawn post three, will be ridden by Jose Ortiz and is 15-1 on the morning line.

Governor Sam looks for his third consecutive stakes victory in the Indian Summer for trainer George Weaver and owners Bregman Family Racing LLC and Swinbank Stables LLC.

Since finishing sixth in his first career start in the $110,000 Royal Palm Juvenile won by Florida-bred Gabaldon going five furlongs on the grass at Gulfstream Park in May, the bay son of Improbable has rattled off three straight victories. He cruised to a two-and-a-half-length triumph against special weight maidens sprinting five-and-a-half furlongs at Saratoga Race Course turf on July 19 then won the $100,000 Tyro going five furlongs on the grass at Monmouth Park on Aug. 3.

Out of I’m Betty G, by Into Mischief, Governor Sam exits a two-length victory in the $129,000 Exacta Systems Rosie’s sprinting five-and-a-half furlongs on the Colonial Downs turf on Sept. 7.

Governor Sam is the 3-1 morning line favorite and will be ridden from post seven by Paco Lopez.

Chasing Liberty looks for his second consecutive stakes victory after being placed first through the disqualification of Under the Radar in the $872,000 National Thoroughbred League Juvenile Sprint at Kentucky Downs on Sept. 1. At odds of 22-1, Chasing Liberty was full of run in pursuit of front-running Under the Radar in the stretch of the Juvenile Sprint but had his momentum stopped when impeded by the leader just inside the eighth pole.

Chasing Liberty is trained by Rob Atras for Twin Creeks Racing Stable LLC and is undefeated in two starts after winning a maiden special weight on the turf by a length-and-a-quarter at Ellis Park on July 28.

He is by Constitution out of Peaceful, by Declaration of War and has earned $639,495 in two races.

Geroux gets the return mount from post two and they are 4-1 in the program.

Rounding out the field are Bad Gal Party, who will be ridden by Reylu Gutierrez; Out on Bail will have Luis Saez up, Walter Rodriguez has the call on Dreamaway, Pharoah’s Dynasty with jockey Frankie Dettori, Just Keep Looking will have Francisco Arrieta in the irons, John Velazquez rides Raise the Bar, Moon Sniper and jockey Chris Landeros, Jet Sweep Joe with jockey Tyler Gaffalione and Gerado Corrales will guide Floodlites. Fiddling Felix is on the also-eligible list.
