This regal filly at Pleasant Acres Stallions is a full sister to multiple graded stakes-placed, stakes-winning Florida-bred Neoequos, a Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve (G1) contender and third in last year’s Grade 2 Coolmore Fountain of Youth and Grade 1 Curlin Florida Derby. The filly is by Pleasant Acres Stallions mainstay Neolithic and is the seventh foal out of the stakes-placed Birdstone mare Bold Birdie. Bred in Florida by Helen and Joseph Barbazon of Morriston and Dr. Matt and Lona Vusokich’s Matalona Thoroughbreds in Gainesville, the filly was born January 27.
Bold Birdie has produced four starters, all winners and has an unnamed 2-year-old filly by Mutasaabeq. Bold Birdie is out of the stakes-placed mare On the Podium, by Bold Executive and is a half-sister to stakes-winner Quality Lass and stakes-placed Tenancity Zip and stakes-producer City Lass.
This independent filly at Pleasant Acres Stallions is the first foal out of the winning Golden Horn (GB) mare Golden Voice, by Verifying, who stands at the Morriston, Florida stallion station. She was foaled on March 9 and was bred in Florida by Michael Lewis of Lantana.
A winner of five of 27 starts with a second and four thirds, Golden Voice earned $165,163 on the track. Golden Voice’s second dam is multiple Grade 1-winner Country Star, who set a new track record in winning the 2007 Hollywood Starlet (G1) at Hollywood Park after taking the Darley Alcibiades at Keeneland two months earlier.
