RyZan Sun Racing LLC’s Emmett returns to Gulfstream Park where he is the 7-5 favorite in a $35,000 starter allowance, optional claiming for 3-year-olds Thursday. The Jose D’Angelo-trained son of Greenpointcrusader has post one in the field of seven racing a mile-and-a-sixteenth on the turf for the winner’s share of the $42,000 purse.
Emmett looks for his first victory since winning $32,000 starter allowance optional claiming at Tampa Bay Downs in his last start as a 2-year-old in December. Going a mile on the turf, Emmett won by two lengths after pressing the pace with even-money favorite Ozzy through the first six furlongs.
He then finished second twice at that level and distance at Tampa Bay on Jan. 15 and Feb. 9 before coming in fifth in his last start in the $110,000 Equistaff Sophomore Turf won by Tank there on March 30.
Emmett has a career record of two wins and two seconds in eight starts and has earned $68,720. He was a $17,000 purchase by Ryan Zabrowski out of the Kim Harrison consignment at the 2023 Ocala Breeders’ Sales Winter Mixed Sale.
Emmett is out of Diamondaire, by Distorted Humor and was bred in Florida by Mesingw Farm LLC.

Chill the J is owned by Gary Barber and has earned $19,750 in his three career starts.
