A Florida-bred filly by Bucchero and a colt by West Coast each worked a quarter mile in :20.60 to record the fastest two-furlong times at the first day of under tack works previewing the Ocala Breeders’ Sales June Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training and Horses of Racing Age.

The under tack shows will run each day through Sunday, June 9 starting at 7:30 a.m. EDT. The June Sale will be conducted three days next week, Wednesday – Friday, June 12-14 with the auction starting each day at 10:00 a.m. EDT.

The Bucchero filly, cataloged as Hip 163, is out of Sister Aurora, by Majestic City and is from the family of Grade 3-winner Mulrainy and Grade 2-winner Soldat. She is consigned by Richardson Bloodstock as agent and was bred in Florida by Ricardo Romo.

The West Coast colt is out of the stakes-winning Quality Road mare Overprepared, a half-sister to multiple graded stakes-winner Shadow Cast, stakes-placed Queen Marge and stakes-producer Smart ‘n Special. The bay colt is selling as Hip 16 from the Omar Ramirez Bloodstock as agent consignment.

Two fillies produced eighth mile works in :9.80.

Hip 34 is a gray or roan filly by Munnings out of Piccadilly Line, by Air Force Blue. Her second dam, Sloane Square, is Grade 2-placed and she is from the family of Grade 1-winner Marylebone. The filly is consigned by Britton Peak as agent.

Grade One Investments as agent consigned Hip 144, a gray or roan filly by Frosted out of Shawklit Cake, by Majesticperfection. Shawklit Cake is a half-sister to Grade 2-winner and stakes-producer Shawklit Mint.

Eight juveniles worked a furlong in :10 flat including three Florida-breds.

Hip 44 is a Florida-bred filly by first crop sire Caracaro, who was second in the Grade 1 Runhappy Travers and Grade 3 Peter Pan. The filly is out of Potiche, by Dixie Union, a half-sister to Grade 3-winner Chirac. She is consigned by Triple J Equine Sales as agent and was bred by Off The Hook Partners LLC. 

Hip 54 is by Awesome of Course out of Proof Inthe Puddin, by Elusive Bluff and worked from the consignment of AVP Training and Sales as agent. Proof Inthe Pudding is a half-sister to Fee Do and the filly was bred in Florida by Rosendo Melchor Ortiz.

The filly is eligible for the rich FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes, highlighted by the $1.2 million series of races for 2-year-olds to be run latter this year at Gulfstream Park.

The Florida Sire Stakes Marion County and Florida Sire Stakes City of Ocala for older horses are run annually at Tampa Bay Downs and eligible Florida Sire Stakes runners compete for bonus money in other selected stakes and overnight races throughout the year at Gulfstream Park and Tampa Bay Downs.

Hip 94 is bay colt by Solera Farm stallion Greatness out of Riverbank, by Field Commission and was bred in Florida by Edward Seltzer and Krista Seltzer. Consigned by Sweet River Thoroughbreds as agent, the colt is from the family of champion Trillion and Grade 1-winner Sabona and is eligible for the FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes.

The second day of under tack shows resumes Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. and will feature Hips 176-350.
