Beth’s Dream lived up to expectations Sunday as the odds-on choice with a convincing victory in the $75,000 My Pal Chrisy Overnight Handicap at Gulfstream Park. Ridden by Emisael Jaramillo, Beth’s Dream won her third consecutive race in defeating seven other fillies-and-mares going a mile on the main track.

Beth’s Dream led around the clubhouse turn with Florida-bred Rose’s Halo to her inside as they finished the first quarter mile in a controlled :24.62. Beth’s Dream raced away from Rosie’s Halo around the far turn and extended her winning margin down the stretch. Florida-bred Charlie’s Wish came from fourth to get second, four-and-a-half-lengths in front of Florida-bred Maryquitecontrary. Rose’s Halo, Florida-bred Battle Cry, Double Cosmo Girl and D’lightful Summer completed the order of finish.

The final time was 1:36.35 on the fast track. Beth’s Dream paid $3.40 to win.

Trained by Victor Barboza Jr. for breeders James E. and Virginia Gamble, Beth’s Dream is undefeated in three starts this year including a win in the $75,000 Mo’ Green overnight handicap on April 27. She started the year March 17 by winning an upper level, $62,500 optional claiming by a neck. Both races were run at a mile at Gulfstream.
