A $15,000 purchase at the 2024 Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company June sale will test his mettle against nine 3-year-old emerging turfers (plus one entered main track only) when Florida-bred Quizler lines up for Saturday’s $100,000 Tale of the Cat Stakes at Monmouth Park.

The Florida-bred colt enters the mile-and-one-sixteenth turf feature as a 20-1 longshot, but brings momentum from a productive 2025 campaign that includes five starts with two wins, one second, and two thirds, earning $74,940. His most recent race was a third-place finish in Monmouth’s Jersey Derby on May 31. He won a starter optional claiming race at Gulfstream Park on April 4 after breaking his maiden there on March 7.

Quizler is owned by Richard Malouf and trained by Kelly Breen. He will be ridden by Samy Camacho from post position seven and carries 116 pounds. The race is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. EDT.

The dark bay colt bred by SCF, Inc. is sired by Curlin’s Honor out of Imperial Code, by Imperialism. The colt has changed hands multiple times at Ocala Breeders’ Sales events, selling as a yearling for $12,000, failing to meet his reserve as an OBS March 2-year-old at $32,000, and finally in June 2024 for $15,000.

Quizler faces a competitive field lead by Uncatalyzed, the 3-1 morning line favorite trained by Chad Brown. The British-bred colt by Kingman has a desirable record of one win and one second from two career starts, both in 2025. Uncatalyzed broke his maiden at Belmont at the Big A on May 4 and finished second in his debut at Tampa Bay Downs on March 14. He will be ridden by Samuel Marin.
